Harry Sanford Mayhall (1882-1965) and his wife Dorothy (1895-1992) came to Florida in 1927 so he could accept the position of Music and Drama Director of Lakeland High School in 1928. Mayhall staged many plays for which Dorothy designed the sets. His Sunday concerts at City Auditorium became a city tradition. In 1943 the City Auditorium was named the Mayhall Auditorium. Harry Mayhall taught at Lakeland High School until 1952.
Included in this collection are photographs of a small sample of the dozens of theater productions and stage shows that the Mayhalls supervised at Lakeland High School.
