This collection consists of issues of the Lakeland High School student newspaper, The Percolator. It began publication in the 1922-23 school year and continued uninterrupted until the spring of 1929. After a one year interruption it resumed publication in the fall of 1930. The last issue was published in December 1930.
Its publication schedule was somewhat erratic, but generally ranged between 6 and 18 issues per academic year and 4 to 8 pages per issue, with the exception of the "Christmas" issue of 12 pages. Although some are issues are missing The Percolator provides insights into the interests and concerns of high school students in the boom times of the 1920's and the beginnings of the Great Depression.
