The Railroad Photo Collection is a small collection of photographs documenting railroad and railroad related activities in and near Lakeland, Florida from the early 1920's to the 1970's. The bulk of the photographs are of Atlantic Coast Line Railroad locomotives, other rolling stock, depots, and rail yards. There are in particular a number of photos of steam locomotives from the 1930's and 1940's. Also included are a number of photos of the train depot and rail yard that were just north of Munn Park in downtown Lakeland until 1960. There are also photos of the train depot after it was moved ourt of downtown Lakeland to the New Tampa Higiway site.
The photos were donated to the Special Collections unit of the Lakeland Public Library by former Lakeland resident and railroad aficionado Richard Kearns.
