Description	A view of the gracefully curving Lake Mirror promenade that surrounds Lake Mirror in Lakeland Florida. The Lake Mirror Promenade was designed by noted New York architect Charles Leavitt as part of the so called "million dollar" civic center in Lakeland, Florida. The Promenade was dedicated on July 4, 1928 and has become an iconic structure in the city. It was the first public structure in Lakeland to be named to the National Register of Historic Places. Spearheaded by the efforts of a local historic preservation organization, Historic Lakeland, and financial support from federal grants and local funding, the Promenade has in recent years been restored to its former grandeur.
